History of Gant is strongly related to men’s shirts. shirts helped define the casual-yet-smart look. Booming middle class appreciated the perfect roll of a Gant collar and the quality of fabric one could expect with a Gant shirt. Until the late 1960s Gant had been solely a shirtmaker but since time has come to use their specialist knowledge to broaden their range.
Influenced by the city of New Haven and the nearby Yale University, Gant plays a major role in shaping the Ivy League Look. The origins are shown today visibly in logo sweaters and t-shirts.
Making a major move beyond menswear, in 2004 the company launches GANT Woman. The women’s collection is recognizable to same origins in New Haven and Ivy League Look as men’s collection is. Gant Women collection offers coats, jackets, sweaters, hoodies, shirts, polos, knitwear and dresses.
